Advanced Data Management has become a crucial prerequisite for businesses operating in today’s digital world. B-New is actively searching for a data management enthusiast to join our data science team. As a Data Architect / Engineer you will be focussing on Data Warehousing and Data Lakes, and the encompassing data governance and tooling for our business clients. Architecture, design and implementation are managed within this team.

As a Data Architect / Engineer you feel comfortable taking on the following responsibilities:

• Define and put in place the different components of the data platform in collaboration with other technical team members
• Scan the market of available tools and propose options depending on requirements and company standards
• Provide guidance on some technologies like IoT standards and protocols, Azure event, streaming…
• Take part in the integration of other data sources with the data environment
• Look for/propose automation tools and technical process improvements
• Define the architecture and design of the Azure data platform
• Document the architecture, guidelines and principles
• Design the main data pipes to support use cases
• Take part to PaaS governance improvement
• Coach/support a few internal resources

Educational profile

Master degree in data science, statistics, computer science or related field. Or equivalent through experience. The more experience you have the better, but no stress, we always factor in your learning ability.

Business experience

• Experience with IoT and analytics use cases

*Preferable:

• • Experience on projects with different technology stacks, integration aspects
  • Experience within insurance or financial domain

Technical Experience

• Experience in API creation to operationalize analytics models and integrate them in operations processes.
• Being aware of best practices, trends, & evolutions of the IT industry and most particularly Data
• Knowledge about Data Management: lineage, data quality, principles…
• Devops (Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Integration / Delivery)
• IoT knowledge (standards and protocols / device management)
• Azure Data Skills (Data Lake Gen2, Event Streaming)
• Knowledge of pipes principles and developments
• Experience in PaaS data lake set-up
• Analytics environments/systems
• Experience in Data Factory
• Cloud Architecture Pattern
• Experience in DataBricks

*Preferable:

• • Knowledge about/experience in DWH running in Azure environment
  • Knowledge about dashboarding, Power BI

Functional experience

• Understanding of Best Practices for, data warehousing, ETL & BI solutions across the Enterprise
• Ability to translate Business Requirements into functional & technical Requirements
• Architecture, functional & technical analysis on database, ETL & BI solutions
• Ability to interact with Business Owners and gather Business Requirements
• Database modeling via modeling tools such as Erwin or Visio
